Strings still attached

Written by Adelaide Mensah.

“and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (NIV) Matthew 28:20

There is a story of a little boy's kite. One day at the beach, he made it fly aloft: it rose so high that he could no longer see it yet, he said he had a kite, and he held fast by it. His dad curiously asked "Boy, how do you know you have a kite?" "I can feel its pull," he said and that was reason enough to make him know that he still has his kite.

Today we feel our Jesus pull. Yes, He draws us closer with a far greater force than a mere string. When we wake up daily knowing how sinful we are, yet having another opportunity to live, it is Christ pulling to remind us of Him.

When we have that lasting tranquility that comes after taking bold decision based on Christian principles, He is reminding us of His promise of peace that surpasses all understanding.

When He grants us travelling mercies, He is telling us He is with us.

When He provides a way for us in difficult moments, He lets us know that He is in control.

When He provides us with the needful for each day, He is telling us He’s still got our back.
