Faithful God, faithful believers

Written by Mantebeah Elizabeth Matilda Abena.

"And I am convinced and sure of this very thing that he who has begun a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ (right up to the time of his return), developing (that good work) and perfecting and bringing it to full completion." (AMP) Philippians 1:6

Are we really Christians? Or we are just church goers? Our ability to answer this question truthfully and sincerely will make this scripture true in us. When we gave ourselves in baptism, God started a peculiar work in us. He began to nurture us from within His own Spirit which He gave us.

His expectation is that we become like Christ when He returns. God gives a surety that he will continue and finish that good work he has began in us. The major concern here is for us as Christian to also fulfil our side of the contract. For this reason, he requires that we submit and totally commit to Him without any ounce of unfaithfulness. He wants us to make known that work which he has begun in us by showing the good works unto the people around us in our businesses, at schools, in relationships, marriages etc.

He wants us to bear fruit which demonstrates that God is indeed purging us of our sins and making us better Christians. He wants us to be loving, joyful, faithful etc. Being a Christian may be challenging when you don’t know what to do but when we get to know our mission as Christians, then we can sit back and enjoy being faithful Christians serving a faithful God.
